🚀 Setup Instructions
1. Setup Device Schedule
a. Sit down with your child(ren) and agree on screen time rules and a usage schedule.
2. Download the App
a. Search for “Egis Control App” on your smartphone’s app store.
b. Install the app.
3. Create an Account
a. Open the app and tap Register under the login button.
b. Fill in the required info and tap Sign Up.
4. Add Your Smart Plug
a. Tap Add a New Device from the app's Devices screen.
b. Enter the required info.
c. Set the audible warning time (in minutes).
d. Choose a short grace period after the scheduled end time.
5. Enter Wi-Fi Details
a. Enter your exact Wi-Fi network name and password. Tap Next.
📱 Android users: Your current Wi-Fi will auto-detect.
b. Follow the prompts to connect the device.
c. Keep the phone nearby and the app open during pairing.
6. Plug in Your Device
a. Ensure your router is powered on and supports 2.4 GHz.
b. Plug the device near your modem.
c. Confirm the outlet is live.
🌐 Weak Wi-Fi? Use an extender for best results.
d. The device must stay connected to Wi-Fi to work properly.
7. Complete App Pairing
a. Wait 15 seconds after plugging in.
b. In the app, tap Next.
c. Grant permissions.
d. Wait for confirmation.
e. Verify On/Off and Lock/Unlock controls work.
⚠️ Important: The small black button is only for pairing controls - press 3 times to enter pairing mode within 5 seconds, or 5 times within 5 seconds to exit pairing mode. (It does not turn power on or off.)
❗ If Pairing Fails
a. Unplug and re-plug the device into the electrical outlet.
b. Wait at least 15 seconds after plugging in before touching the button.
c. Then press the black button quickly 3 times within 5 seconds. You’ll hear:
- A single beep after each press (audio feedback).
- A double/triple beep when pairing mode activates.
d. Wait another 5 – 20 seconds for the LED to start blinking.
e. To exit or cancel pairing mode manually, press the black button 5 times within 5 seconds. You’ll hear a short beep after each press and a long double beep when pairing mode ends. The LED will stop blinking and remain solid green.

If your device was shipped before October 16, 2025 and has not yet been connected, follow these steps:
- Plug your Egis Control device into a wall outlet.
- As soon as you hear the beep, press and hold the button until the light turns off (this can take upwards to 60 seconds more or less).
- Once the light turns off, release the button.
- Then press and hold the button again for another 15 seconds or so, until the light begins blinking — this means the device is now in pairing mode and ready to connect with the app.
f. Once the LED begins blinking, return to Step 4 in the app to complete pairing.
🔄 Note: Pairing mode remains active for approximately 5 minutes.
If the device isn’t connected to the app within that time, it will automatically exit pairing mode (LED stops blinking and returns to solid green).
🔌 Lock Devices in Place
a. Unplug and insert the key. Turn counterclockwise.
b. Open the lower case.
c. Plug in up to 2 cords.
d. Push the case closed and lock it.
e. Store your keys in a safe location.
🎉 Final Step
a. Plug the device back in.
b. Use the app to control power and scheduling. You’re all set!
🔐 Important Usage Guidelines
Devices Must Be Fully Turned Off
If a device (e.g., Xbox, PlayStation) is left in standby or Quick Start mode, it may still use power—and count as screen time. Always shut them down fully.
🕒 Set a Schedule
a. Open Time Management from the menu
b. Tap Add Schedule
c. Set Start and End times
d. Select the days and tap Save
e. Choose device(s) and tap Save
⏳ Set Time Limits
a. On the Time Management screen, tap Time Limits
b. If not on that screen, go there first
c. Tap the pencil icon to edit
d. Set allowed daily usage time

Schedule = When devices can be used

Time Limit = How long they can be used
Example: Schedule 3–10 PM + Limit 3 hours → Device shuts off after 3 hours of use, even if time window remains.
🔁 Override or Update Settings
Two Main Controls
Your smart plug can be managed in two ways:
Device Switch (Device Details page)
a. OFF → Cuts all power to whatever is plugged in (overrides everything)
b. ON → Power is available and schedule settings now apply
⚠️ IMPORTANT: Toggling the Off/On button on the device details page OFF will shut off all devices connected to the plug, regardless of schedules or settings.
Schedule Switch (Time Management page)
a. ON → Device automatically follows your set schedule
b. OFF → Manual control only via Device Details page (schedule ignored)
Examples
a. Schedule Switch OFF → Turn the plug on or off manually anytime using the app
b. Schedule Switch ON → Plug turns on/off automatically based on your schedule
c. Device Switch OFF → No power regardless of schedule settings
Using Manual Control (When Schedules Are Off)
a. Open Time Management and turn the Schedule Switch OFF
b. Return to the Device Details page
c. Use the On/Off toggle to control your device manually
d. Schedules and time limits will be completely ignored
💡 Tip: With the Schedule Switch OFF, your smart plug works just like a normal plug you control from the app.
Modes at a Glance

Update Wi-Fi Info
a. Device loses connection if Wi-Fi changes
b. Delete the device from the app (see steps above).
c. Follow the same button sequence described in the ❗ If Pairing Fails section above to re-enter pairing mode.
d. Once the LED begins blinking, return to Setup Steps 4–7 to complete pairing.
🗑 Delete or Reset Device

Reset the Device
a. Delete the device from the app (see steps above).
b. Follow the same button sequence described in the ❗ If Pairing Fails section above to re-enter pairing mode.
c. Once the LED begins blinking, return to Setup Steps 4–7 to complete pairing.

Note: On older units shipped before Oct 2025, a long press (> 60 seconds) triggers pairing mode using the legacy method. It does not erase any stored data or perform a factory reset.
