It's All About Our Children

Egis Control is a U.S. based consumer electronics manufacturer dedicated to closing the technology gap that stops parents from being able to easily monitor and control both the amount of time their children spend on screens and the types of content they are exposed to.
We’re directors, strategists, product managers, marketers, engineers, and above all else parents. Like all of you, we love our children more than anything else in this world.
The word Egis, or Aegis as it's more commonly known, is Latin for shield. Our goal is to provide parents a one stop shop where they can shield, protect, monitor, and control all of their children's devices whether it's their smartphones, tablets, gaming PC's, TV's, or video gaming systems from one single app on their phone.

Our Story
In 2018, Kito faced a challenge that no parent wants to have to face. One of his sons had almost failed high school and dropped out of college due to his addiction to video games. Frustrated with the various, difficult-to-use, parental control options built into his son’s video game systems, computers, TV, and other devices, he started to work on an app to manage them all in one place.
After talking with John about his idea and sharing how difficult the video game companies made it to control scheduling of their platforms programmatically, John thought of an even better and easier-to-use idea.
Control the power to the devices.
This was the moment Egis was created. The goal is to allow parents to easily manage when and how long their children play video games without going to extremes such as taking away controllers/cords or getting into yelling matches.
The long-term vision of Egis is simple. We aim to help families all over the globe by creating a one-stop-shop solution that will allow parents to control all of their children’s electronic devices from one single app on their phone.
Why We Should Care
-
Kid's spend an average of nearly 8 hours a day in front of a screen. This does not include time spent online for virtual classes (JAMA Pediatrics).
-
Excessive screen time is linked to obesity, irregular sleep, behavioral problems, impaired academic performance, and a host of other issues (Mayo Clinic Health System).
-
Current parental control solutions either fall short of parents’ needs or are too complicated to use.
Of course, there are additional reasons and statistics but we're sure you get the point. Technology is amazing and offers unlimited benefits to both us and our children, but like most things, too much can become a bad thing if we are not mindful.
Now more than ever, it's imperative for us as parents and the protectors of our families to teach our children how to interact with technology in a way that doesn't harm their mental, emotional, and physical development.
